Chromium

Chromium helps regulate sugar levels in the blood

Even a very slight chromium deficiency will have serious effects on the body.   Chromium deficiency may be a factor that will upset the function of insulin and result in depressed growth rates and glucose intolerance in diabetes.  Chromium stimulates the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of glucose for energy and the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol.

Poor farming practices leave soil void of needed nutrients therefore, leaving crops void of minerals.  Also the refining of carbohydrates is another cause of chromium loss.  The low standards of growing food and food preparation leave us deficient in necessary minerals, especially chromium.
